THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois...
Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk late tonight.
DISCUSSION:
Thunderstorms are likely late tonight west of I-39.
Portions of the Kankakee River in northwest Indiana will remain
in flood.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday through Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A cluster of showers and thunderstorms is likely to move across
the region Wednesday morning. There is a limited risk of isolated
severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail with the
morning activity.
A second round of scattered thunderstorms is possible late
Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening. If these storms
materialize, the potential would exist for some of them to become
severe with damaging winds the primary threat, then hail, with a
low but non zero tornado threat across northwest Indiana.
While some threat of severe weather is exists area wide late
Wednesday late afternoon and evening, the best chances appear to
be southeast of I-55 or I-57.
Finally, periodic bouts of thunderstorms are possible late
Thursday night through early Sunday. There does appear to be some
risk of heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms in the region
during this time frame, but it is a bit too far into the future
to pin down details.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
