THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR North Central Illinois… Northeast Illinois AND Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:      Elevated Hail Risk...up to half dollar size.      Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 mph.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Elevated Fog Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Locally dense fog is possible near the lake this morning. Showers and thunderstorms will impact the region late tonight. There is some potential for strong to severe storms, along with heavy rainfall during the overnight hours. Large hail is the initial concern, but storms may form into a fast moving linear convective system as they move from Iowa and Wisconsin into northern Illinois and northwest Indiana. If this occurs, damaging winds would become an additional concern.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

Monday…

Limited Flooding Risk.  Elevated Thunderstorm Risk with a Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.

Tuesday through Friday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A few more rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected late Monday into Monday night where a marginal severe risk exists. Thunderstorm chances continue this week but with lower probabilities.

Spotters may be needed late tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving east at around 40 mph.
