NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Fog Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Scattered thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon through
early evening. There is a small chance that a couple of the
storms could become severe, mainly along and southeast of a Paxton
to Watseka Illinois, to Wheatfield Indiana line. If any storms
become severe, the primary threat would be locally damaging winds,
though a risk of large hail does exist.

A mix of rain, light freezing rain, and light snow is possible
this evening across northern Illinois, before a changeover to all
snow occurs tonight. Some minor snow accumulation is likely,
mainly on grassy surfaces and along and north of I-88.

Strong northwest winds will develop tonight with gusts of 30 to
40 mph likely. Near the lake in northwest Indiana, winds could
gust over 40 mph late tonight.

A portion of the Kankakee River near Shelby Indiana will remain
in flood.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

Wednesday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A fast moving disturbance could bring a period of snow on
Thursday. As the winter-like pattern continues through the
weekend, another system could bring a threat for wintry
precipitation including snow late Sunday into Monday.

A portions of the Kankakee River near Shelby Indiana will
remain in flood.
