THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Significant Lakeshore Flooding Risk.
Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Strong northeasterly winds, with gusts of 45 to 50 mph are
expected over far northern Illinois today. The strongest winds
will be primarily along and north of I-88.

These strong northeasterly winds will produce high waves over
southern Lake Michigan today and tonight and this will produce
localized lakeshore flooding with water and spray likely
impacting vulnerable roadways in northeastern Illinois near Lake
Michigan.

There is also a chance for thunderstorms this afternoon, mainly
south of I-80 and some of these could be strong across central
Illinois. However, severe weather is not expected across our area.

Colder air will filter into far northern IL tonight and this may
result in a period of light freezing rain near the Wisconsin state
line tonight. While some minor ice accumulations are possible on
elevated surfaces, marginal temperatures will likely limit ice
accumulations.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.

Sunday...
Elevated Snow Risk.
Wednesday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Precipitation is expected to continue on Sunday and into Sunday
night. As colder air shifts over the area late Sunday, expect the
possibility for some light snow Sunday night, with minor
accumulations under an inch possible on grassy areas.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not anticipated through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving northeast at 50 MPH.
