AND BOONE COUNTIES UNTIL 1100 PM CDT...
At 1029 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Roscoe to near Ashton to 6 miles east of
Walnut. Movement was east at 40 mph.
Nickel size hail and wind gusts up to 50 mph will be possible with
these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Rockford, Belvidere, Loves Park, Machesney Park, Sycamore, Rochelle,
Harvard, Rockton, Mendota, Genoa, Shabbona, Rockford Airport, Walton,
DeKalb, Roscoe, Poplar Grove, Cherry Valley, Amboy, Kirkland and
Waterman.
Including the following interstates...
I-39 between mile markers 72 and 123.
I-88 between mile markers 63 and 93.
I-90 near mile marker 2, and between mile markers 46 and 76.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
