THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Hail Risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 70 MPH.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Thunderstorms will continue to develop this afternoon, especially
near and south of the I-80 corridor as a disturbance approaches
the area. Scattered severe thunderstorms capable of producing
damaging winds and large hail are also possible, especially south
of I-80. The most intense thunderstorms will produce torrential
downpours, with at least localized flooding possible. These storms
will gradually shift east of the area by mid to late this
evening.
In addition...flooding is expected along portions of the
Kishwaukee and Rock Rivers.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday through Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms are possible on Friday
across the outlook area.
Flooding will continue along portions of the Kishwaukee and Rock
Rivers.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed this afternoon and early evening.
