THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Tornado Risk into north central Illinois.
Elevated Hail Risk...up to half dollar size.
Significant Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 70 MPH.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION:
An area of decaying showers and thunderstorms is expected to
move into the Illinois portion of the outlook area this morning.
Low level moisture and instability will increase later this
afternoon and evening from the west however, with renewed storm
development expected from the west. These storms will spread east
into northwest and north central Illinois by this evening, with
severe storms possible. While the potential for severe weather
will extend east across much of the outlook area, the greatest
potential for severe weather will be focused over northwest and
north central Illinois during the evening. Damaging winds and
large hail are the primary threats expected, though supercell
storm structures may pose a tornado threat early in the evening.
Storms will have the potential to produce locally heavy rainfall
amounts, and any training of storms could produce localized
flooding.

Elevated Flooding Risk.
Elevated Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Friday...
Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.
Saturday and Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Monday...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.
Tuesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Periods of thunderstorms are expected Friday into Friday night.
Some of these storms could produce severe weather and locally
heavy rainfall. Thunderstorms should become less numerous Saturday
and Sunday, limited mainly to the afternoon and early evening
hours.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters will likely be needed late this afternoon into this
evening across northwest and north central Illinois.
