...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CDT SUNDAY
FOR LIVINGSTON...KENDALL...LAKE...WILL...GRUNDY...KANKAKEE...NORTH
CENTRAL FORD...EASTERN KANE...NORTHWESTERN IROQUOIS...EASTERN
MCHENRY...DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES...
At 725 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heavy rain has moved
out of the Mchenry, Kane, Kendall, Grundy, and Livingston Counties,
however the heavy rain that fell is producing flash flooding.
Numerous roads are flooded and impassable.
Heavy rainfall and flash flooding will continue across the remainder
of the warned area early this evening, including the immediate
Chicago metro area.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
