Kankakee...northwestern Ford...Kane...northwestern Iroquois...McHenry
and northern Lake Counties...
* At 1028 PM CDT...Traffic reports indicated that several roads
remained closed due to flooding across the warned area. Prepare
for the possibility of encountering flooded or closed roads
through early Tuesday. Additionally, many area rivers, streams and
creeks will remain elevated.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Elgin, Waukegan, Cicero,
Hammond, Gary, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg,
Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley
Park, Oak Lawn and Berwyn.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. Do not attempt to walk across flooded
roads.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
