...THE FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1030 PM CDT FOR
LIVINGSTON...KENDALL...LAKE...WILL...GRUNDY...KANKAKEE...NORTH
CENTRAL FORD...EASTERN KANE...NORTHWESTERN IROQUOIS...EASTERN
MCHENRY...DUPAGE AND COOK COUNTIES...

At 920 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated that the rain has ended
across the warned area. However, reports indicate rapid rises on
rivers, creeks and streams continues. Additionally, flooded roadways
are common across the area. With the onset of darkness, flooded
roadways will become more difficult to recognize. Avoid travel
through tonight.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Several reports across the warned area.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage
and low lying areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
