The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
* Flood Warning for...
Lake County in northeastern Illinois...
McHenry County in northeastern Illinois...
* Until 245 PM CDT Thursday.
* At 540 AM CDT, local law enforcement officials report flooding
ongoing over portions of Lake and McHenry Counties. Many creeks,
streams, and rivers remain elevated and some roads are flooded and
impassible. Rain has ended, but flooding will continue from run
off following the overnight heavy rain.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
