This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered thunderstorms are expected to spread from southwest to

northeast late tonight as a warm front lifts north through the region.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Friday through Wednesday.

Friday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Significant Flooding Risk.

Saturday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

Sunday through Wednesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Periods of thunderstorms are expected from Friday through the middle of next week. Heavy rainfall and repeated thunderstorm development along a frontal boundary moving into northwestern Illinois by late Friday afternoon or evening will produce heavy rainfall over an area where soil moisture is unseasonably high and rivers are running near or above flood stage due to upstream rains. Flooding and flash flooding are possible Friday night into Saturday morning. Additional periods of thunderstorms are likely through the middle of next week. Flooding potential will continue at least through Saturday.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT…

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east-northeast at 40 to 45 MPH.
