This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:     Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.     Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.  Elevated Flooding Risk.  

DISCUSSION…

Thunderstorms are spreading across into northwestern Illinois this morning and are expect to continue into the morning. Additional periods of thunderstorms are likely today, though exact timing and coverage is still uncertain. Some of the stronger storms will have the potential to produce damaging winds and large hail. In addition, heavy rainfall may occur in some of the storms and could lead to localized flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Sunday through Friday.

Sunday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Monday…

Elevated Flooding Risk.  Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Tuesday and Wednesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Friday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

A period of unsettled weather is expected through at least mid-week. Warm and humid conditions are expected with periodic chances for thunderstorms. For Sunday, there is a chance that some of the stronger storms may be severe, with strong winds and large hail being the primary severe threats. In addition, heavy rainfall may occur in some of the storms and could lead to localized flooding.

Spotters may be needed today into this evening.
