This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…This Afternoon and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Flooding Risk.

DISCUSSION…

Scattered thunderstorms are possible mainly across north central and portions of northeast Illinois this afternoon. A greater threat of thunderstorms is expected tonight, mainly over far northern Illinois especially north of the Interstate 88 corridor and near the Wisconsin border. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible with these storms.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Thursday through Tuesday.

Thursday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

Friday…

Limited Severe Thunderstorm Risk.  High Swim Risk

Saturday…

High Swim Risk

Monday and Tuesday…

Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There is a chance of thunderstorms over far northern Illinois early Thursday, and across the entire area Thursday night. Some storms Thursday may be strong to severe, with damaging winds the primary threat. Thunderstorms will end from northwest to southeast Friday morning and early afternoon as a cold front moves through the region.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.

Moving toward the east at 30 mph.
