Elevated Thunderstorm Risk. Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Scattered thunderstorms are possible mainly across north central and portions of northeast Illinois later today. A greater threat of thunderstorms is expected tonight, mainly over far northern Illinois especially north of the Interstate 88 corridor and near the Wisconsin border. Locally heavy rainfall will be possible with these storms.

DISCUSSION:
There is a chance of thunderstorms over far northern Illinois early Thursday, and across the entire area Thursday night. Some storms Thursday may be strong to severe, with damaging winds the primary threat. Thunderstorms will end from northwest to southeast Friday morning and early afternoon as a cold front moves through the region.
