This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE…Tonight.
Weather hazards expected…
Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated: Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph. Elevated Flooding Risk. Limited Excessive heat Risk.
DISCUSSION…
Scattered to numerous thunderstorms are expected to persist into the evening hours, associated with numerous outflow boundaries and a weak cold frontal boundary which has sagged across northern Illinois and far northwest Indiana. Locally heavy downpours, and isolated strong wind gusts to 60 mph will remain possible with some of these storms this evening, before storms weaken and decrease in coverage later this evening. The front will then lift back north as a warm front overnight, with the potential for storms decreasing significantly after midnight.
