DISCUSSION…
Temperatures will warm to around 90 degrees in many locations this afternoon, with heat index values in the lower 90s. There is a chance of scattered thunderstorms during the pre dawn hours of early Tuesday morning across far northwest and north central Illinois.

A cold front will settle across the region Tuesday, stalling across central Illinois and Indiana Tuesday night, then eventually lifting back north as a warm front Wednesday night. Several periods of scattered thunderstorms will be possible during mid week.
