The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a
Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for… Southeastern Winnebago County in north central Illinois… Northwestern McHenry County in northeastern Illinois… Boone County in north central Illinois…
Until 130 PM CDT
At 1237 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen in portions of the advisory area over the past hour. Much of the area has observed 4 to 6 inches of rain over the past three days, which will allow any heavy rainfall to quickly runoff.
Some locations that will experience flooding include… Rockford, Belvidere, Woodstock, Loves Park, Harvard, Marengo, Wonder Lake, Rockford Airport, Poplar Grove, Cherry Valley, Richmond, Capron, Hebron, Timberlane, Ringwood, Greenwood, Caledonia, Davis Junction and New Millford.
