DISCUSSION...
A very powerful storm system will affect the area Friday
afternoon through Saturday.
Strong southerly winds are likely Friday afternoon and evening
with gusts of 40 to 50 mph expected.
Then, a fast moving line of showers and thunderstorms is expected
to sweep across much of the outlook area Friday night. Some of
the thunderstorms could become severe, especially southeast of a
Rockford to Kankakee to Fowler, Indiana line. Any storms that do
become severe will primarily pose a risk for damaging wind gusts
over 60 mph.
Finally, another period of powerful winds is expected beginning
Saturday morning and continuing into the early afternoon when
damaging wind gusts to around 60 mph are possible at times.
