This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to nickel size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon and will
spread south and east through the evening. Some storms could
become severe, especially south and east of a La Salle to Waukegan
line. The main severe threat between about 1 PM and 8 PM is
expected to be damaging wind gusts capable of downing tree limbs
and fences. In addition, storms will produce torrential rainfall
which may cause flooding of low- lying areas.

Heat index values of 105 degrees or higher are expected from
central Illinois into northwest Indiana late this morning into
the afternoon ahead of the expected thunderstorms.

DISCUSSION:

Additional scattered thunderstorms are expected on Thursday. The
strongest storms will be capable of producing brief torrential
rainfall and strong and gusty winds.

Building wave action will result in a high risk for rip currents
late Thursday morning through Thursday night.
