DISCUSSION...
Sporadic south wind gusts of 45 mph are expected today. Rainfall
of an inch to an inch and a half could result in localized flooding
tonight, especially for portions of east central Illinois and
south of the Kankakee River in Indiana. A brief period of freezing
rain and sleet could result in some slick roads late tonight,
mainly north of I-80. There is a slight chance of a thunderstorm
south of the Kankakee River Valley tonight.

Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk during the morning.
Significant Snow Risk during afternoon and early evening.

DISCUSSION...
Freezing rain and sleet is likely Thursday morning, mainly south
of I-80. A period of snow is expected Thursday afternoon and
evening, and the snow could be heavy at times from around the
I-80 corridor and south. North winds could gust to between 30 and
40 mph, with gusts over 45 mph possible near Lake Michigan.
Strong onshore winds will result in lakeshore flooding.
