DISCUSSION:

A significant, multifaceted storm system will impact the outlook
area midweek. Heavy rainfall is likely Wednesday night, especially
south of a Chicago to LaSalle Peru line, where some flooding is
possible. Rain will change to a period of freezing rain and sleet
from north to south across the outlook area Wednesday night into
Thursday. While a significant ice storm currently appears
unlikely, some ice accumulation is expected before precipitation
changes to snow late Wednesday night far northern Illinois and
across the remainder of the outlook area Thursday. Some snow
accumulation is likely over most of the outlook area. There is a
lower, but non zero, risk for heavy snow depending on the eventual
track and intensity of the storm system.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
