This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated Tornado Risk.
Elevated Damaging Wind Risk...up to 65 mph.
Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk this morning.

DISCUSSION...

Dense fog early this morning along and north of I-88 and I-290
should fade by mid morning with the exception being near the
lake front, where fog may continue through midday.

At least scattered thunderstorms are likely to develop during
the mid to late afternoon across northern Illinois. Areas of
thunderstorms will likely be present this early to mid evening
as well. There is a risk of scattered severe thunderstorms,
with the risk more favored over north central Illinois than
points east. The primary threats are damaging winds, a few
tornadoes, and locally heavy rainfall.

Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Gusty northerly winds will be seen later Wednesday through
Thursday, possibly gusting to 40 mph on Thursday. These strong
winds will bring an increased threat of lakeshore flooding
due to the development of large waves on southern Lake Michigan,
primarily to northwest Indiana.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this mid-afternoon through evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east at 40 mph.
