This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Fire Weather Risk this afternoon.
Limited Thunderstorm Risk this evening.
DISCUSSION...
Breezy southwest winds will develop today with gusts to 35 mph
possible this afternoon. These gusty winds, combined with low
relative humidity will result in a elevated fire weather
conditions this afternoon.
A cold front will approach the region this evening bringing a
threat for showers and perhaps a thunderstorm or two to the
region. While severe weather is not expected, locally gustier
winds to 45 mph will be possible in and near any storms.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.
Tuesday...
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk Porter County shoreline.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Gusty northwest winds will continue on Tuesday. This could result
in a brief period of higher wave action into the Porter County
shoreline by Tuesday morning resulting in a threat for minor
lakeshore flooding and beach erosion.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east-southeast at 40 mph.
