...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 PM CDT
FOR DE KALB...KANE...MCHENRY AND BOONE COUNTIES...
At 834 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Harvard to near Marengo to near Sycamore to near
Waterman, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Aurora, Elgin, DeKalb, Bartlett, Crystal Lake, Carpentersville, St.
Charles, Algonquin, Lake in the Hills, West Chicago, McHenry,
Batavia, Belvidere, Woodstock, Huntley, Geneva, Sycamore, Campton
Hills, Fox Lake, Harvard, Island Lake, Marengo, Poplar Grove, Genoa,
and South Elgin.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for north central
and northeastern Illinois.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
