This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms are expected to gradually develop and organize
across central into southern Wisconsin this evening. Some of
these will at least approach the Illinois stateline, and may
move into northern Illinois. With southward extent, the
environment becomes less favorable for severe storms, so if
these do move into northern Illinois, the severe threat of
isolated damaging winds and large hail would mainly be along
and north of Interstates 88 and 290.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
Limited Fog Risk near Lake Michigan.
Friday Night through Sunday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Near record high temperatures, with heat indices into the 90s,
are forecast Wednesday well inland, and on Thursday for a
large part of the area.
Fog is possible near the Lake Michigan shore on Wednesday and
Wednesday night, some of which may be dense.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed mid to late evening in far northern
Illinois, though confidence is low on this.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the south-southeast at 35 mph.
