This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to the size of quarters.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Elevated Fog Risk this morning.

DISCUSSION...

Showers and some embedded thunderstorms are expected later this
morning and into the afternoon. Additional thunderstorms are then
possible late this afternoon and into the evening. A few storms
could be strong to severe posing mainly a threat for strong wind
gusts and large hail, mainly south of I-88 and west of I-65. While
the tornado threat appears low at this time, a brief tornado can't
be ruled out this evening south of I-80.

In addition, any storms this afternoon and evening will be capable
of producing locally heavy rainfall which could cause instances of
minor flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Friday and Saturday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Gusty northerly winds are forecast to develop over Lake Michigan
on Friday and linger into Saturday morning. As a result, the
development of large waves on Friday will likely bring another
period of lakeshore flooding for parts of the southern Lake
Michigan shores. A Lakeshore Flood Watch is in effect for Lake and
Porter Counties in Indiana.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed south of I-88 and west of I-65 mainly
this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east northeast at 45 mph.
