This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to quarter size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
DISCUSSION...
Showers and some embedded thunderstorms have moved into the area.
Additional thunderstorms are possible late this afternoon and
into the evening. A few storms this evening could be strong to
severe posing mainly a threat for strong wind gusts and large
hail, mainly south of I-88 and west of I-65. While the tornado
threat appears low at this time, a brief tornado can't be ruled
out this evening south of I-80.
In addition, any storms this afternoon and evening will be capable
of producing locally heavy rainfall which could cause instances of
minor flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday and Saturday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Gusty north winds over Lake Michigan on Friday into Saturday
morning will support the development of large waves on Friday
and perhaps another period of lakeshore flooding for parts of the
southern Lake Michigan shores. A Lakeshore Flood Watch is in
effect for Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana.

Spotters may be needed this evening.

Moving toward the east northeast at 45 mph.
