This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Elevated hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Fog, some dense, will continue near Lake Michigan and then spread
inland overnight.
Expect isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, though severe weather
will likely hold off until tonight. Some small hail is possible
with afternoon storms.
This evening and through the overnight, scattered thunderstorms
are likely, some of which could be strong to severe. The primary
risk is for large hail. While the risk for large hail could extend
farther north, the main threat area is expected to be along and
south of I-80. Damaging wind gusts are possible south of US 24. In
addition to the severe risk, heavy downpours could cause localized
flooding south of I-80.

Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Elevated Fog Risk.
Sunday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
DISCUSSION:
A powerful storm system will impact the region on Saturday and
Sunday with multiple hazards. Ongoing thunderstorms Saturday
morning may pose a risk for localized flooding. Then later
Saturday afternoon into Saturday evening, a risk for significant
severe weather may unfold into portions of northern Illinois and
possibly northwest Indiana. All severe hazards will be possible,
including a few to several tornadoes, some possibly strong, large
to very large hail, and damaging wind gusts. At this time, the
highest severe threat may be focused along and west to southwest
of a line from Pontiac to Marseilles to Dixon.
In addition to the thunderstorm threat on Saturday, areas of fog
will be possible Saturday morning in northeast Illinois, some
could be dense.
Then late Saturday night into Sunday morning, strong southwest to
west winds gusting up to 40 to 45 mph or more are possible.

Spotters may be needed this evening and overnight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the east northeast at 50 to 60 mph.
