This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central Illinois…Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE…Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected…

Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk today.  Limited Ice accumulation Risk late tonight.

DISCUSSION…

A mix of rain and freezing rain is expected to develop south of Interstate 80 after midnight…and will spread north across the area early Monday morning. Light ice accumulations are possible, and slippery travel conditions may develop Monday morning before temperatures slowly warm above freezing.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…Monday through Saturday.

Monday…

Elevated Ice Accumulation Risk.

Tuesday…

Limited Ice Accumulation Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Freezing rain Monday morning may produce light ice accumulation and slippery travel conditions before temperatures rise above freezing and precipitation turns to rain. Rain will likely change back to a mix of rain…snow and freezing rain across far northern Illinois Monday evening as colder air returns. Patchy freezing drizzle or light snow may persist Monday night and Tuesday.
