Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited tornado risk.
Limited hail risk...up to 1 inch.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 75 mph.
Elevated Flash Flooding Risk.
Extreme Excessive Heat Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Explosive thunderstorm development is expected this afternoon
over northeast and eventually most of northern Illinois into
northwest Indiana. Additional thunderstorms may arrive from Iowa
after dark. All thunderstorms today will pose a threat for damaging
winds, possibly widespread, and flash flooding. Have multiple ways
to get warnings including some that wake you up tonight.
Heat indices this afternoon will remain above 105 degrees away
from the Lake Michigan shoreline.
