Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to nickel size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 60 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms are likely to develop over northwestern portions of
Illinois after sunset before shifting east-southeastward
across parts of the area very late this evening and overnight. The
strongest storms will pose a threat for strong to locally damaging
wind gusts, as well as small hail. In addition, heavy rainfall
will likely accompany any storms, and a localized flash flood
threat may develop for areas that experience repeated occurrences
of thunderstorms.

DISCUSSION:
A complex of thunderstorms may move into the region out of Iowa
and Wisconsin late Saturday afternoon and evening. While these
storms may be on a gradual weakening trend, a threat for damaging
wind gusts may persist, especially for locales near and north of
Interstate 88. Locally heavy rainfall amounts will also be
possible, which could lead to additional instances of flash
flooding.
