...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM CDT THIS MORNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Lake IL and McHenry.
* WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 156 AM CDT, doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Between 1 and a little over 2 inches of rain
have fallen in portions of McHenry and Lake Counties since
late Friday evening. Additional thunderstorms will track over
this area through daybreak. It is possible Flash Flood
Warnings may be needed for part of the area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Waukegan, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Crystal
Lake, Wheeling, Northbrook, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein,
Algonquin, Highland Park, Lake in the Hills, Round Lake
Beach, McHenry, Vernon Hills, Woodstock, Zion, Huntley and
Grayslake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A Flood Advisory means minor flooding along waterways and other poor
drainage areas is imminent or may already be occurring. Persons in
the advisory area should use caution and avoid flood waters.
Expect flooding of creeks, ditches, canals, and storm sewers, as
well roadways, underpasses, and other poor drainage areas.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
