This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Minimum wind chill values tonight will be as low as 5 to 15 below
zero, especially in portions of interior northern Illinois, where
localized wind chill values as cold as 20 below zero are possible.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.
Wednesday and Thursday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Friday Night and Saturday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Sunday and Monday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional rounds of fluffy snow accumulations are probable
through early next week. Locations near and south of I-80 will be
most favored for accumulations of 1 to as much as 2 inches on
Wednesday, with areas near and north of I-80 more favored on
Thursday.
The very cold air mass will remain entrenched across the region,
with even colder conditions expected over the weekend into early
next week when widespread overnight and early morning low temperature
readings of well below zero and wind chills of 20 to 30 below
zero are quite possible.
