This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.

DISCUSSION...

Accumulating snow and associated travel impacts will continue
through this evening, with the heaviest snow from the Interstate
88 to the Interstate 90 corridor through early this evening. Lake
effect snow could prolong impacts in portions of northwest Indiana
late tonight, especially in parts of Porter County.

Clearing skies overnight will allow for another night of very cold
temperatures, especially in interior northern Illinois. Wind chill
values by the pre-dawn hours will fall to 20 to 25 below zero,
locally as cold as 30 below zero, along and west of the Fox River
Valley.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

Tuesday...
Limited Snow Risk for Porter County Indiana in the morning.
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk, mainly in the morning.
Wednesday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Friday through Sunday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.

DISCUSSION:

The very cold and active weather pattern will continue through
the weekend. Lowest wind chill values along and west of the Fox
River Valley on Tuesday morning will be 20 to 25 below zero and
locally as cold as 30 below zero. Lake effect snow showers could
continue to impact travel in portions of Porter County Indiana on
Tuesday morning.

Additional periods of fluffy snow will be possible at times
Wednesday through the weekend. Outside of these periods of
potential accumulating snow, expect bitterly cold to occasionally
dangerously cold wind chill values, especially Friday night
through the weekend.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
