DISCUSSION:

A rapidly strengthening storm system will bring a variety of
weather hazards on Thursday through Friday morning. Accumulating
snow now appears likely, especially north of I-80 where a few to
several inches of snow are possible. There is also a risk for
freezing rain and light ice accumulations Thursday morning south
of I-80. Strong and gusty westerly winds and rapidly falling
temperatures Thursday evening and overnight along with continued
snow will set the stage for further reduced visibility in snow and
blowing snow and icy roads from freezing of lingering moisture
from during the daytime hours. Patchy blowing snow could continue
into Friday morning along with wind chills as cold as 10 below
zero.

A bitterly cold air mass will arrive over the weekend, possibly
with snow and travel impacts leading its arrival Saturday into
Saturday night. Well below zero lows and dangerously cold minimum
wind chills of 20 to 30 below zero or even colder are quite
possible, especially Sunday through Monday morning.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
