DISCUSSION:

A wintry mix of precipitation is probable across portions of the

includes the potential for freezing rain and some ice accumulations
through about mid day, with some snow accumulations possible
across mainly northern Illinois. Sharply falling temperatures and
continued precipitation into Thursday evening could lead to slick
travel, with some travel impacts possibly continuing into Friday
morning.

The coldest air mass of the season is expected to arrive over the
weekend, with well below zero minimum wind chills increasingly
likely.
