This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Wind chill values this morning will range from 10 to 20 below
zero across interior portions of northern and northeast Illinois.
Light lake effect snow will continue this morning across
northwest Indiana, then shifting west through the morning into
northeast Illinois. In addition, a clipper system will bring more
light snow to the area later this afternoon though tonight
creating slippery travel conditions along and north of I-80.
Accumulations of 1 to 2 inches possible mainly north of I-90 and
for areas nearest Lake Michigan in Cook and Lake Counties in
Illinois.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Elevated Excessive Cold Risk.
Limited Snow Risk.
Saturday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
Sunday and Monday...
Significant Excessive Cold Risk.
Tuesday and Wednesday...
Limited Excessive Cold Risk.
Elevated Snow Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Additional rounds of fluffy snow accumulations are possible
through early next week. One of the better chances of
accumulating snow will be Friday night into Saturday.
Another push of bitter cold arctic air will arrive Saturday
night, and will persist into early Monday. Dangerously cold
wind chills are likely during this period, especially on
Sunday and Monday mornings.

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
