...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...
At 707 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Wadsworth to Round Lake Park to Lake in
the Hills. Movement was east at 35 mph.
Winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include...
Waukegan, Buffalo Grove, North Chicago, Gurnee, Mundelein, Highland
Park, Round Lake Beach, Vernon Hills, Zion, Grayslake, Libertyville,
Lake Zurich, Lake Forest, Round Lake, Antioch, Wauconda, Fox Lake,
Lake Villa, Island Lake and Deerfield.
Including the following interstates...
I-94 between mile markers 1 and 25.
I-294 between mile markers 1 and 25.
This includes... Chain O Lakes State Park, Great Lakes Naval
Training Center, IL Beach State Park, Lake County IL Fairgrounds,
and Six Flags Great America.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
