This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Thunderstorm Risk this afternoon...with an associated:
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Thunderstorms across the central Great Plains may evolve into a
quick-moving line of strong to severe thunderstorms today,
crossing northern Illinois and northwest Indiana during the mid to
late afternoon hours. If this line develops, damaging wind gusts
to 70 mph will be possible. Additionally, the line of storms will
exhibit a quick forward motion of 40 to 50 mph. Make sure to
monitor forecast updates throughout the day.
Warm and humid conditions with heat index values near 100 degrees
are expected late this morning into this afternoon prior to the
potential thunderstorms.
