This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk
High Swim Risk...late tonight.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will continue across parts of northern
Illinois and northwest Indiana this afternoon. Additional
thunderstorms are expected later this evening along a cold front
from the northwest. These storms may be strong to severe with
large hail and damaging winds, and even a chance for a tornado
mainly west of I-39. The threat for severe weather will end from
northwest to southeast during the late evening and overnight
hours.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday and Sunday...
High Swim Risk.
Monday through Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Brisk northerly winds will lead to hazardous conditions for Lake
Michigan small crafts and beachgoers on Saturday, especially
along the Indiana shoreline.

Spotters may be needed this evening.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Early this afternoon, toward the northeast at 30 to 40 mph.
