This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Significant Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited Tornado risk.
Elevated hail risk...up to half dollar size.
Elevated damaging wind risk...up to 70 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk.
High Swim Risk Late Tonight.

DISCUSSION...

There is a small chance for isolated or widely scattered storms over
the area this afternoon. While a strong storm or two cannot be ruled
out, the primary period that we are monitoring for the potential for
severe thunderstorms is this evening after 6 pm. Thunderstorms are
likely to develop in the vicinity of a cold front later this afternoon
over parts of southwestern WI before shifting southeastward into
northern IL and northwestern IN through the evening. Strong damaging
winds and large hail look to be the primary severe threats, with a
lower chance for a tornado. The threat for storms is expected to end
from northwest to southeast during the late evening and overnight
hours.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Saturday and Sunday...
High Swim Risk.
Monday through Thursday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Brisk northerly winds will lead to hazardous conditions for Lake
Michigan small crafts and beachgoers on Saturday, especially
along the Indiana shoreline.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotters may be needed this evening.

GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:

Moving toward the east southeast at 30 to 40 mph
