THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
THUNDERSTORMS WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
HEAVY RAINFALL
ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING
AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO AFFECT AREAS GENERALLY NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 80 THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THE GREATEST
COVERAGE OF STORMS WILL OCCUR ALONG AND WEST OF INTERSTATE 39.
VERY HEAVY DOWNPOURS MAY STILL OCCUR THROUGH DAYBREAK AIDING
FLASH FLOODING THAT MAY BE OCCURRING ACROSS LEE AND OGLE
COUNTIES. OTHERWISE ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE
POSSIBLE THROUGH THE DAY WITH THE GREATEST CHANCES WEST AND
LOWEST CHANCES EAST. MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED TO MOVE IN FROM WEST TO EAST TONIGHT.
DISCUSSION:
A STATIONARY FRONT TO THE WEST AND SOUTH OF THE AREA WILL MOVE
LITTLE. WARMER AIR MOVING IN OVER THE FRONT IS HELPING DRIVE
THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AND NORTH OF THE BOUNDARY. MORNING
THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DIMINISH IN COVERAGE DURING THE
MID AND LATE MORNING HOURS LEAVING A CHANCE FOR ISOLATED TO
SCATTERED STORMS THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY. THE BEST
CHANCE FOR ACTIVITY WILL BE ACROSS THE WEST WITH LOWER CHANCES
TO THE EAST. MORE WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND STORMS ARE EXPECTED TO
MOVE IN FROM THE WEST THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT. HEAVY RAINFALL
IS THE BIGGEST CONCERN OVERALL WITH SLOW MOVING STORMS
OCCURRING IN A VERY MOIST AIRMASS SO ISOLATED FLASH FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE.
HIGH WATER OR MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ON THE DES PLAINES
RIVER NEAR RUSSELL...THE EAST BRANCH OF THE DU PAGE RIVER NEAR
BOLINGBROOK...AND THE FOX RIVER NEAR MONTGOMERY.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE TO BE POSSIBLE AT TIMES.
HIGH WATER OR MINOR FLOODING WILL CONTINUE ON THE DES PLAINES
RIVER NEAR RUSSELL...THE EAST BRANCH OF THE DU PAGE RIVER NEAR
BOLINGBROOK...AND THE FOX RIVER NEAR MONTGOMERY.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
SPOTTERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT HEAVY RAINFALL TOTALS TO THE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHICAGO.
