This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
Limited hail risk...up to quarter size.
Limited damaging wind risk...up to 65 mph.
Limited Flooding Risk.
Limited Excessive Heat Risk south of I-80.
High Swim Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Scattered thunderstorms will move across portions of Illinois
and northwest Indiana this morning, mainly along and south of
Interstate 80. A cold front will move across the area this
afternoon and additional thunderstorms are possible this
afternoon south of Interstate 80. Any of these thunderstorms
will have the potential to produce severe wind gusts and large
hail. Locally heavy rain is also possible with these
thunderstorms.
Heat index values will reach around 100 degrees this afternoon
mainly south of Interstate 80.
Strong northeasterly winds will produce high waves and dangerous
swimming conditions.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.
Friday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
High Swim Risk.
Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotters may be needed through this afternoon, mainly south of
I-80.
