possible in portions of northern Illinois late tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Sunday...
Limited Snow Risk, mainly in the morning.

Tuesday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Snow Risk in the morning.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.

DISCUSSION:

Light snow accumulations are expected Saturday night into Sunday,
with highest amounts in portions of far northern and north central
Illinois.

There is increasing potential for a winter storm to impact the
region Monday through early Tuesday. Snow accumulations of at
least several inches are becoming increasingly likely in some
areas, with a wintry mix also possible south of I-80, including
freezing rain.

If ingredients fully come together, a swath of significant snowfall
of six inches or more is distinctly possible in portions of the
area by the time the snow winds down Tuesday morning. The wintry
precipitation will be accompanied by gusty northeast winds,
strongest near Lake Michigan. Further elevated lake levels and
large waves caused by the strong northeast winds could cause
lakeshore flooding impacts.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
