At 715 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty thunderstorms
along a line from Harvard to Rockford to Dixon, moving southeast
at 30 mph. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph, downed tree limbs, and
torrential downpours are possible with these storms.
Locations impacted include Belvidere, Marengo, Harvard, Crystal
Lake, Dekalb, Sandwich, Dixon, and Amboy.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead

* WHERE...All of northern IL and northwestern Indiana. The hottest
conditions will continue south of I-80.
* WHEN...Through 10 PM CDT /11 PM EDT/ Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses to occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out
of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young
children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when
possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational
Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent
rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone
overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location.

possible with these storms. Very heavy rainfall is also likely to
accompany these storms, and this could produce some isolated areas
of flash flooding, especially in places where multiple storms
move over the same areas.
