At 715 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking gusty thunderstorms
along a line from Harvard to Rockford to Dixon, moving southeast
at 30 mph. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph, downed tree limbs, and
torrential downpours are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include Belvidere, Marengo, Harvard, Crystal
Lake, Dekalb, Sandwich, Dixon, and Amboy.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded

The first round of storms moving through mainly southern portions
of the area during the early afternoon is expected to be followed
by another round later in the day. Damaging winds are the primary
concern with these storms, though some isolated hail to the size
of quarters is possible. Very heavy rainfall will also accompany
these storms, and this may result in some localized areas of flash
flooding, especially in areas that experience multiple storms.

DISCUSSION...

While some scattered thunderstorms are possible this morning to
the south of I-80, more substantial thunderstorms are likely late
this afternoon into the early evening. This second round of
thunderstorms could form into eastward moving clusters, capable
of producing damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph. Very heavy
rainfall will also accompany these storms, and this may result in
some localized areas of flash flooding, especially in areas that
experience multiple storms. The greatest threat for these high
wind producing clusters looks to be primarily along and south of
the Interstate 80 corridor.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out

under any circumstances.

Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When
possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
