This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk I-80 and south late tonight.
DISCUSSION...
Isolated thunderstorms, embedded within a widespread area of light
to moderate rain, will be possible tonight mainly south of I-80.
Severe weather is not expected.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.
Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk along the Illinois shore.
Significant Lakeshore Flood Risk for northeast Illinois.
Sunday...
Limited Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
Monday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Waves of showers on Saturday and Saturday evening may have
embedded thunderstorms at times. Severe weather is not expected.
Strong and gusty east-southeast winds will build waves and likely
cause lakeshore flooding for the Illinois lakeshore Saturday
afternoon and evening, especially from downtown Chicago and
northward.
Rain and snow showers are likely on Sunday. The snow may come
down moderate to heavy at times in the snow showers, causing
reduced visibility and possibly minor slushy accumulations.
Strong northerly winds on Sunday night into Monday will result in
building wave action and likely cause lakeshore flooding for the
northwest Indiana shore and at least portions of the Illinois
shoreline.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
