This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Fog Risk.
Limited Snow and Ice Risk.
DISCUSSION...
Fog may locally reduce visibilities to around one or two miles at
times near I-39 tonight.
A wintry mix of light freezing drizzle, changing to snow, appears
possible late tonight and into Tuesday morning mainly for locales
north and west of a Mendota to Aurora to Waukegan line. This
precipitation may result in the development of some slick spots on
elevated and untreated road surfaces towards the early morning
commute.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Saturday.
Tuesday...
Limited AM Fog Risk.
Limited AM Snow Risk.
Thursday...
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk.
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk for Porter County shore.
Friday...
Limited Lakeshore Flood Risk for Porter County shore.
DISCUSSION:
Any lingering light snow and rain will come to an end quickly through
the mid to late morning hours on Tuesday.
A fast moving low pressure system will be accompanied by gusty
winds on Thursday. Behind the storm system, brisk northwest winds
over Lake Michigan could build waves enough to bring some risk for
lakeshore flooding to the Porter County shoreline Thursday night
into Friday.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
