This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Elevated Evening Ice accumulation Risk north.
Limited Snow Risk north.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION...
A short period of freezing drizzle has developed over far northern
Illinois early this evening. This freezing drizzle will briefly
impact areas down to the I 80 corridor this evening, before
transitioning to light snow later this evening. Minor snow
ice and snow accumulations are possible, mainly
north of I-88.
Gusty northerly winds tonight will result in building waves on
Lake Michigan. The combination of this with near record lake levels
will result in some lakeshore flooding.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Monday.
Thursday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
Limited Snow Risk in portions of northwest Indiana.
DISCUSSION:
The lakeshore flooding threat will continue into Thursday. Lake
effect snow showers with minor accumulations are also likely into
portions of northwest Indiana on Thursday.
Early next week may see near record cold for mid-November.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
