This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of North Central
Illinois...Northeast Illinois and Northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
Limited Non thunderstorm wind Risk along the IL shore.
Significant Lakeshore Flood Risk for northeast IL.
DISCUSSION...
A few thunderstorms, embedded within waves of light to moderate
rain, will be possible today. Severe weather is not expected.
Strong and gusty east-southeast winds will build waves and likely
cause lakeshore flooding for the Illinois shore this afternoon
and evening, mainly from downtown Chicago and northward.
.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday.
Sunday...
Limited Snow Risk.
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk late Sunday night.
Limited Non Thunderstorm Wind Risk near the lake overnight.
Monday...
Elevated Lakeshore Flood Risk.
DISCUSSION:
Rain and snow showers are likely on Sunday. Some of the snow may
be moderate to heavy at times causing reduced visibility and
possibly some minor slushy accumulations.
Strong northerly winds on Sunday night and into Monday will result
in building wave action and likely cause additional lakeshore
flooding for the northwest Indiana shore and at least portions of
the Illinois shoreline.
.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
Spotter activation will not be necessary through tonight.
GENERAL STORM MOTION OF THE DAY:
Moving toward the northeast at 45 to 50 mph.
